Introducing UltraQuick, an improved Anilox Sleeve System for Flexo Printers!

UltraQuick Sleeves, by Apex, replace the compressible foam and flimsy glued-together cores of other companies’ sleeves with a TruCore rigid aluminum tube and TruRing solid ring construction.  No foam, no glue, period.

High T.I.R. (total indicated runout) and “bounce” are the pressman’s enemy.  Thin, metal-walled foam-based sleeve systems, when exposed to strong centrifugal force and multiple change-outs typical on press and reworks, can degrade and become more oval-shaped than round, resulting in bounce.  Our TruCore sleeve system consists of two components: a heat-treated, hardened aluminum outer tube and an integral TruRing rigid array of rings.  These TruCore sleeves are honed to high tolerances; at nearly half the weight of other sleeves, our metallurgy suffers no degradation in form.

Why are lightweight Apex sleeves the best choice for your pressroom?

When Apex designed the lightest-weight and most durable sleeve on the market today, they had in mind shop profitability and return on your investment.

  • Lightweight & durable design resists damage and enhances ease-of-use.
  • Resistance to sleeve distortion, ceramic cracking and slipping
  • High capability for multiple re-engravings (tested up to 20 re-engravings)
  • Typical weight is 0.5-0.7 lbs/inch vs. approximately 1 lb/inch or more for our competitor’s sleeves.

Why is the Apex UltraQuick the best anilox sleeve system?

Apex engineered a new sleeve that solves the three critical problems plaguing a typical anilox sleeve: sleeve slippage, ink contamination and high T.I.R.  These hazards prevent other maker’s sleeves from maintaining press reliability and usually result in irreparable damage, over time, to the sleeve itself thus preventing re-surfacing.

Why are Apex TruCore sleeves better than glued foam sleeves?

Glued foam-based thin-walled sleeves tend to corrode, delaminate, and may go out of round over time.  Our heat-treated, hardened aluminum TruCore sleeve base ensures negligible T.I.R. over time and virtually eliminates bounce.  Plus, our high-quality TruCore aluminum sleeve provides a durable base for multiple re-engravings (tested to 20!).  Coupled with the rigid TruRing multiple ring system, the precision lifespan of a typical UltraQuick sleeve is at least five to ten times greater than others.
