Press Supervisor

Supervisory and technical work in the production of printed  products in a Wide Web Flexographic operation.  Work involves responsibility for supervising and assisting subordinates engaged in the safe production of printed materials. Supervision is exercised over a staff of technical operators and assistants in determining procedures and scheduling operations.
Responsibilities: Complies with established safety procedures and policies.  Participates in the overall safety program through STOP, attendance and engagement at safety meetings.  Ensures adherence of safety policies and stopping all poor behaviors.  Plans, lays out, and supervises the work of Press Operators, Assistants, and support staff engaged in the production at the facility.  Oversees the set-up, adjustments, maintenance & operation of flexo presses.

5+ years demonstrating thorough knowledge of the operation of wide web flexo presses, related machines, use & application of film, inks, fluids & chemicals used in printing at high speeds.  Ability to train & direct others.

Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school supplemented by specialized training in graphic arts & considerable technical printing & supervisory experience.
