Based on the award-winning range of X-RiteDot™ meters for commercial printing, FlexoDot brings the ability to measure exact dot sizes and screen rulings on CTP and conventional flexo printing plates.With FlexoDot in hand, printers, trade shops and converters can:

Truly Portable Solution
FlexoDot is a unique system that can be taken to press or prepress, and can measure at any spot on a flexo plate. Unlike other systems, no computer interface is required in order to make measurements. This portability allows instant evaluation of materials anywhere, anytime to minimize downtime due to plate or image quality.
Easy Operation
FlexoDot self-calibrates, requiring no user intervention to give accurate measurements every time. What’s more, users can have total confidence in every reading because FlexoDot has a unique viewing system allowing the user to directly see the measured target area. Just align the instrument and measure.
Large Graphic Display
FlexoDot reports critical plate data including actual screen ruling and angle along with the dot percentage. Often more important, it displays a digital snapshot of imaged dots from both film and plates allowing users to easily see actual dot shapes, patterns and contour. An optional video upgrade allows saving up to 32 video images in the meter and includes PC/Mac software to upload the images to a computer for further review or use. This all adds up to easy diagnosis of plate problems resulting from misshapen dots or plate artifacts, leading to better image quality for you and your customers.
Totally Reflective Technology
FlexoDot is the most accurate method of measuring flexo plates, due to a unique, proprietary reflective technology. A special fluorescing solution, brilliant blue light source and convex, sapphire lens ensure accurate measurements on most any flexo plate. It works effectively on metal-backed plates and has no trouble with light refraction caused by ‘capped’ plates.
Unlike other flexo reading systems there is no need to use computers or software to interpret the data. FlexoDot’s unique viewing system produces a true, positive image of dots, and all data can be seen clearly on the unit’s large, graphic display. Because FlexoDot has no awkward design restrictions, repeatable results can be obtained anywhere on any size of plate rather than just at the edges as with other systems.
Software Options
FlexoDot can be used to 'snap a picture' of your plate and display it on a workstation screen. The video option includes video capture software, providing automatic plate-checking of screen ruling and angle values.
Its 'dot interrogation' feature measures dot size in microns—a crucial feature for quality control. The data software option enables transfer of numeric values into most any RIP, calibration set-up or other chosen software application.
Easy To Enhance
Users can easily upgrade X-RiteDot models to add more features as their needs grow, all without the need to return them to the factory. Enhancements are made via a simple user-entered keycode to unlock upgraded features.
