Helpful Hints & Video Tutorials
For the best results, we recommend the following:
1. To eliminate entry and exit burrs, always cut with the base side facing up.
2. To protect the emulsion side from scratching, place the foam protector sheet (used for shipping between each flexo plate), on the base board.
3. To stabilize the plate for ultra-fine trimming, place a piece of white matboard between the plate and aluminum baseboard. Start your cut 1" in from the edge. Come back and complete the cut from the edge.
4. To obtain smooth clean edges and avoid fracturing (especially on thicker flexo plates), we recommend multiple passes and frequent blade changes.
5. When bevel-cutting thick flexo plates, the blade tip may run out of the groove holding the yellow silicone cutting strip. Place a piece of matboard under the flexo plate and adjust the blade so the tip just cuts into the surface of it, thereby not scoring the baseboard.
