Re: Putting together a mounter room/department

We have shelving like the example but use slim cardboard boxes sitting on top of each other. Don't quote me as I'm at home ,they could be around about two inches in height. These boxes are also long/wide enough to fit all plates needed for most single sided jobs.Thin layers of foam are also added be...

Re: Comexi Press.Draw mode percentage?

I have used it on a paper/poly/foil structure as well as a thin gauge polypropylene... Same procedure for either one... Nice. I was experimenting with draw (kgs) on thin flexible tubing. Was pleasantly surprised how well draw maintained an even tension. I'm going to experiment with percentage draw ...

Re: Comexi Press.Draw mode percentage?

Thanks for your input MShalna
I was starting to think no one uses draw percentages.
I was considering experimenting, but prefer to hear from others with experience.

Is there a particular material you use it for. I'm thinking stiff material?
Thanks for chiming in

Comexi Press.Draw mode percentage?

Hi All We have a Comexi CI Press that's about 20 years old. We use tension mode for normal PE tubing / film. And draw mode with kgs for non-flexible material. There is another setting for draw mode using percentages, but none of us use it because there isn't a need. But I'd like to learn more. We do...

Re: Cleaning dried UV varnish off of anilox roller?

. I have no experience with ultrasonic cleaners,uv ink or paint remover I'll assume ethyl acetate will not work after all your previous efforts. If all else fails, send anilox away to get laser cleaned In my experience, a laser cleaner has never failed after a deep clean, unless the anilox is damage...

Re: cutting blades off a roll

That said, since you have some on rolls, make sure to use good aviation snips, not tin snips, or a device that cuts blade material squarely. Folks that cut steel rule for flat-bed dies may use something like this. Also be sure to establish a standard length and ensure that everyone always cuts them...

Re: cutting blades off a roll

Buy them in pre-cut. We stopped that BS years ago
My firm is pretty cheap and loves saving a buck. Buying them in roll form must have been a false economy.
They come packaged in a cylinder, ready to go.

Re: ink adhesion

can anyone give me a web page for uv ink adhesion on Semi gloss material. we are having issues with it passing tape test. but from what i recall tape testing SG material will always result in a failure due to test destroying substrate. This might not be relevant ,but worth asking ? We have a produc...

Nah,I'm not talking about an auto wash system doesn't it turn aniloxes on and off itself?

In an auto wash up? Or solvent in a pump?
Could you please clarify? I don't work on a press that uses autowash up. My understanding with autowash up presses is flows are set by manufacturer. They have no taps to adjust. Well, that's what how our auto wash press next door is configured?

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

Try this one. Regardless if you are doing a full wash or rinse and swap. Have your anilox running 2 minutes tops. Also have the flow on full. You can always leave the station rinsing as is. Also leave the viscosity unit on manual if rinse is for a long time, this gives it a good clean as well. Watch...

Re: Metallic colours banding or gear marks

, We dont get bandings in other inks. That is strange asf. Only metallics and some opaque white? One thing you haven't mentioned is gears. Is it a gearless press. If they are big solids you are printing could it be actually bounce which can causing multiple bands . This can happen with our gearless ...

Re: Ink Foaming of Solvent Based Inks.

Hello, We have been encountering issues with ink foaming up and over the doctor blade chambers and even foaming in the kits. Can anyone offer any direct causes or solutions? Thank you. I have had this phenomenon, not often, maybe 3 times a year. We, too, use have solvent based inks. My first point ...

Easy, prove yourself right or wrong.Rinse/wash offending station after run and place a "stable" ink in there. Run it at the speed you were having trouble with. Then Bobs, your Uncle!
