Re: Environmentally Friendly Anilox Cleaner

Laser bro. You will never go back. No anilox changed out goes back into the rack without going through the laser cleaner first. So every anilox put in the press is in pristine condition -just like new. Colour density problems are a thing of the past. If anything, we might need to bring viscosity dow...

Re: Previously saved job files?

Thanks for the input guys I have been going of saved files for years now. It doesn't matter what the previous set was, you will always set up faster than starting from scratch. Hell, I'm even using files from different cylinder sized jobs and modifying the cylinder size to suit. At least I'll get cl...

Re: Varnish streaks

Had something similar to what Frank said. It was as if black text from the station before the varnish was setting of onto areas where no text was being printed. The fix was swapping lacquer anilox out with one that had been deep cleaned. Cells might have been clogged, affecting transfer. Which was h...

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

Who would have thought? I have always had trouble setting primer, even at speed. It dries too quickly on the plate. Low and behold, I turned station heaters off and Primer behaves like ink. Have also experimented with setting each colour separately without using the first laydown of white as the bac...

Re: printing issue in the plate

I think this is a plate issue, and a press issue. Are you making your own plates in house? Is this a analog or digital plate? What is the floor height? In this position, as a process of elimination, to prove to myself it could be a plate issue, I'd run image area between my finger and thumb to see ...

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

We don't normally work with Kodak plates, but I Googled it and it seems to mainly be for screens. This particular design is full solids. Hey Andy Kodak Plates are for big solids. They are more expensive, but worth it. The difference in using them is like night and day. When you get them made, there...

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

Hi all On the topic of bounce, we had an interesting case last month. We had a job that was bouncing significantly (you could hear it was that job just by the sound and frequency of the bounce, and intensely feel the floor vibrating as well). The plate had multiple horizontal bands and thus design ...

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

Hi Gorilla, have you received the 3 blade doctor chambers yet? I tested them few times but don't see any help with the ghosting. Hi AliceinFlexoland Sorry, I didn't. The boss was happy with results we got using some interventions, so buying a 3 bladed chamber was canned. We were practically copying...

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

This is for those that don't have automatic wash units
When rinsing any station, have the anilox turning for two minutes tops.
Leave rinsing with the anilox off if necessary.

Re: Tips/Tricks - Flexographic Mastery.

If you are coming on to a long run, set up by the last shift, reset the print. Then you'll "know" if there are any print quality problems -Kiss impression has been sorted.
When all settings have been achieved (tensions, taper, heaters etc...) save file.

Re: Bearer Bars

Hi Guys Update: Another shift ran job with GTT roller and small reverse print started filling in. I'm thinking of suggesting to go to an even softer mounting tape?Could this work? The problem is, we don't stock any. But I see 3M have another 2 more grades of even softer tape than our own. My theory ...

Re: Chamber with a third blade puzzle

Regarding how it combats ghosting: I'm thinking it's not about replenishing the cells faster/better but that since it meters the anilox twice it is more level. Thus the "ghost imprint" will be the same lightness but the non-ghosted imprint will be lighter and overall less noticeable. That...
