density and Matte film

Postby rsckkcee8 » Thu Aug 27, 2015 7:24 pm

I am looking for information (literature or experience) regarding densities and matte films. Separator is using fingerprint from previous run on clear PET backed with white sealant to make plates. GMG's did not match what we produced on press. Densities are low through the Matte film (reverse print) but good on the printed surface. I have never checked densities on the matte side due to loss in color saturation and was looking for advice. Any info you could provide would be helpful. I am aware that a fingerprint NEEDS to be done on matte film for better color correction. Knowing this, isn't it possible for them to make curve adjustments based on the film we run?

Thanks,
