I did use defoamer, but to no avail. As soon as I pick up speed, it starts to come up again. How much defoamer, because I used enough to get rid of bubbles; do I need to add more??

Its been a long time since I ran a water based ink and encountered the problem. I just remember that de-foamer seemed to solve it. Good Luck!

I've seen this, but can't remember solving the problem. Have you tried experimenting with ink viscosity or slowing dry rate?

Is your cool grey formulated on white or on extender? if opacity is not an issue, try swithching to the one you are currently not formulated on.

I did use defoamer, but it kept coming up. I switched to opaque white instead of extender, and still getting it. I used double blade, Nothing works. That's why I was asking if it might have something to do with not having a metering roller and just a straight anilox with no metering. Gory, when you say to switch, what are you referring to??

I saw no mention of not having a metering roller in your earlier posts. Do you mean it is a chambered press, or are you using a gravure deck somehow - maybe to print a solid?
When I said switch, I meant to change from white to extender if you were using white as the 'base' of the ink, your message says you tried that and it did not work.
As far as your question about using more de-foamer, be careful with that stuff - too much can open a whole new can of worms.

When using defoamer is it mixed with water and sprayed into your well?

Yes Gory, I am using chambered blades. No metering roller, Not gravure. Just anilox. I will try using the extender again, maybe I missed something. I did use opaque white, but it is a nightmare. Yes sir, I will use the extender and see what happens. Thanks bro!
