Migration of Photo-Initiators

Postby Christopher.Coffey » Fri Dec 02, 2011 8:37 am

Hello everyone, I have a few questions regarding the migration of photo-initiators with u.v. flexographic ink. I am hoping maybe some of you can clear up some of my questions for me.

- In Europe that have standards like the Good Manufacturing Practices and the Frameworks Regulation. Also in Switzerland they have the Swiss Ordinance on Materials and Articles. These laws help regulate what photo-initiators can be used for food packaging and labeling. What about pharmaceutical labels? Are there any regulations on them?
- In America are there any laws or regulations for the same purposes? Again are there any for pharmaceutical labels?
- I know that there are tests available to find out if the photo-initiators are migrating. They can be done at Rutgers University. Has anyone had any testing done before?

Thank you.
