Poisonous ozone due to uv curing in a cleanroom

Postby aengel » Sun Sep 08, 2013 10:59 am

I am considering uv curing an ordinary acrylate based ink in a clean room, about M 3.5, which is ballpark better than a class 10,000 clean room in layman's terminology.

As you know, minute amounts of ozone are cut and liberated during ordinary uv curing of flexo uv inks.

I was wondering if an ordinary charcoal mask is sufficient PPE for the flexo press operator working in the same enclosed space as the uv curing unit. Please advise if this is sufficient PPE for the operator.

Can you suggest any sniffer device which would detect ozone buildup in excess of TWA etc.?

Who is your preferred uv curing manufacturer for presses like Mark Andy?

Thank you! A_l_l_e_n E_n_g_e_l
