Visual aides for setting print

Postby Frank Burgos » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:48 am

Hi All,

I received the following questions by email:

"I had heard some time ago that their was something called a squash bug that you could print on each side of your web that would be unnoticed by the customer, but that we could use to gauge how well the plate and anilox roll were set to each other. Supposedly it would smash out wide if the impression was hitting to hard and longways if the etch was hitting to hard. Do you have any information on such a tool or device?"

Many of us are familiar with the hexagonal slur target commonly used in flexo printing. Is anyone familiar with a running target for anilox-to-plate pressure?

Thanks,
Frank
