Over the years we have used a number of methods to verify consistency and quality for press approvals. At this time we are using Standard cards with press set-up information, original sample, color targets, etc. The standard cards are kept in 3 ring binders and retrieved by press operators prior to starting a job.
The problem with this is the cards deteriorate (yellowing, dirty hands, splashes...) I am looking at a couple of ideas on stepping up the program, finding a reliable process that is sustainable. I am Leary about going to numbers only as I don't want to profile every job.... any thoughts?

We use a standard type school can fold in half to protect the sample for color

Could they be scanned into a data base, calibrated monitors? I kind of like my own idea, I'll have to look into this.

Maybe Frank's comment from this link could help which lines up with Fuzz's thoughts.
