RD Scoring PET Liner

Post by mcarnahan »

I have an issue finding RD blades that are tooled for scoring 1.2mil PET liner. We have blades from Rotometrics that work perfectly on paper liners. Rotometrics claims that they should work on PET but our experience is either they aren't cutting deep enough or cutting through the face...no sweet spot. Any help here would be very much appreciated!

Same thing here. We either slit the trim and wind into cores, or slit trim and put into matrix

I get a site with many links to other companies. Can you be more specific?

It seems that they encompass 3 different companies, Leverwood Knifeworks, Pearl and TGW. I emailed all 3 and will update the thread once I hear back.

Just an FYI to everyone, the quote I received states that these are "Rotometrics SL03-HD score slitter w/bearing 1.25 x .625 x .203" which is the identical blade we purchase from Rotometrics, but 60% less cost! It seems that these are made for Rotometrics and they jack up the price by 60% which is ridiculous. So if anything we all can save quite a bit of money.

As far as successfully slitting PET, we have had no luck with the ones we buy from Rotometrics but will try these to see if they are any different. If not they told me that this blade (part#C000903) is an HD blade and that they do sell a "Standard" blade that is sharper (part#C000897) which I will try as well.
