 ROLL LENGTH CHART: This is a 6-page chart in PDF format.
With it you can quickly determine roll length if you know the
roll diameter and substrate caliper (gauge).
Please note:
- The chart assumes a core OD of 3.375 inches.
- The range of roll diameters is from 6.25 to 20 inches.
- The range for substrate caliper, or gauge, is 0.001 inch to 0.060 inch.
- The charts reflect some diameters and lengths that are not practical. For example, it is not likely that you will rewind 30 feet of 0.060 inch stock onto a 3-inch core. It is that way to ensure the maximum range was covered.
- Due to variability of tension, caliper, and air entrapment during rewind, the chart is accurate to the nearest foot. To express it to any greater precision is probably not realistic in most cases and just clutters the chart.
